‘Everybody Matters, Every Moment Counts’
School Community
Parents are welcome to visit the school at any time for an informal meeting with the Head or class teacher.
Parents’ Evenings are held twice yearly. Parents with any concerns, etc. in the Autumn term are asked to make a private individual appointment to see the class teacher.
Our main formal School Open Evenings are held in November and January when parents can discuss progress made and individual targets. The third meeting allows parents to view the entire school towards the end of the Summer Term on an informal basis.
A written school report is given to the parents at the end of each academic year and a final parent/teacher open evening is held as an informal event.
Some parents come into school during the day, adding their skills to those of the staff, and willingly offering their services. In this way, close ties are maintained between home and school.
As a community based school we always endeavour to offer placements for parents and ex-pupils to train for a variety of occupations and qualifications from NVQs to Teaching degree.
Parents are always welcome at Askam Village School with the appropriate safeguarding in place.
